A Few of My Favorite Things {personal}

I'm sick of winter. It's all drab and brown outside and I'm seriously craving Sunny with a high of 75, hehe! I thought a little personal post of things I love would brighten it up around here! Thank you Pinterest for feeding my need of looking at pretty stuff!

"Daisies are such a friendly flower. Don't you think daisies are the friendliest flower?" -Kathleen Kelly

This is my someday dog. I LOVE Golden Retrievers. Especially Goldens with BUBBLES!!

I seriously can't wait to go to the Bahamas!!!! I've never been somewhere tropical, but I love the ocean and can't wait to feel the sand in my hair!

Ohhh I love these shelves! I have piles of frames and art just waiting for a kitchen or living room with those shelves.

Looks like home :) Ahhh, someday, yes.  I love interior design almost as much as photography. I almost went to Seattle when I was nineteen to study interior design, but then realized it was the pictures I loved more. Still though, I spend hours looking at beautiful rooms.

"Make it Happen" AMEN! I'm sick of wasting time and seeing everyone else go after their dreams. I'm tired of people saying "You're lucky you get to do this." It because I went after it and nothing got in my way or made me give up.  If they can do it, YOU can do it. Make it Happen.

If this doesn't make you happy, you have no soul. The End.

OMG Wayne's World! These will no doubt be my children someday!! Jeremiah, I'm sorry. ;)

I had one of these this week. My. Life. Is. Changed. Ok, that’s pushin it, but seriously, it was nice and life got easier!

My grandma gave me this verse about 3 months before I met Jeremiah. It sits on my desk and everyday I'm thankful God brought him into my life.

Oh boy. If I go into your bathroom and toilet paper is rolling the wrong way, I'LL FIX IT.

Tegan and Kaylee {Fashion Shoot} Choteau, MT

So this post is a bit over due. Whoops! Life has been one thing after the next lately, and I'm not complaining, I love it! I am kinda tired though. Right before our whirlwind Vegas trip we had a fun fashion shoot with Angela Bouma of Timeless Photography and Chris Rebo of Rebo Photography.  It was fun shooting in a full studio and experimenting with lights. I showed up with the idea in my head to just play around, and let the creativity flow. The shoot was styled by Angela along with her doing the hair and make-up. Nicely done lady! Tegan and Kaylee were our gorgeous models and they were a blast to work with! These images are definitely not my "everyday" stuff, but its those moments where you grow as an artist and are pushed out of your comfort zone. I personally haven't worked with a lot of studio lighting, so it's comforting to know I could walk away from a shoot and be happy with what I got. Jeremiah and I even played around with some film and just those back today from the lab. The bottom half of the post is shot on Portra 400 and developed at Pro Photo Connection.

Special thanks to Cara at Mum's Flower's for the gorgeous head piece!! I carried it around all day with me just because it smelled so good :)

Angie found the most amazing run down apartment building for the 2nd half of our shoot! I seriously was about to get a broom and some tools to fix it up and move in, I loved it!! I'm surprised none of us walked away with "The Black Lung, pop"

Vegas on Film

Last night, Rachel and I got back from WPPI, and Showit United. Right now both of us are completely brain dead and overwhelmed(In a good way) We had a blast, and were totally blown away and amazed by all the awesome talented, and cool photographers we met. The company that we use for our website, and also how we met:) Showit, put together an amazing series of speakers, events and tons to keep us occupied. We had a full registration to the normal WPPI platform classes, but didn't make it to a single one. We walked around Vegas as much as we could stand, and I was reminded how much I hate spending more than a day in Vegas:) We will have a couple more posts up in the next week or so, with more on what we did etc, but I wanted to post some of the shots from the film I shot while we were there. All of this is Kodak Portra, a roll of 400, and a roll of 160. Just desaturated the black and whites. Got them processed at a local lab, and the color isn't nearly as amazing as Richards Photo Lab, which is what I've used in the past. Another reason why Richard Photo Lab is amazing.

Lots more to come... Including an impromptu wedding wedding that we shot on the strip, stay tuned:)

Seattle on Film

In December last year Rachel and I took a trip to seattle to see Jeremy Cowart's Lifefinder tour. I have been a fan of Jeremy Cowart's work for a long time, and he is one of my biggest inspirations. He is humble, talented, and artistic in a way thats not self glorifying or prideful in any way. He is also giving, and generous. He is the founder of the Help Portrait, a moment dedicated to helping Photographers, makeup artists, hair stylists, and many others give back to their communities. He is in so many ways a picture of the kind of man I wanna be when I grow up:) and it was amazing to meet him and hear him speak. We drove to seattle from montana for that, but ended up staying a couple days. I hadn't ever been to the city before, and instantly fell in love. we went to the art museum, stopped at pikes place market, and saw the gum wall, and visited the first Starbucks(Picture above). We decided to leave the digital cameras behind for most of the trip, taking a couple old cameras and film. All images are unretouched or edited, except for the shot of us with Jeremy Cowart, because it was severely underexposed haha turned it black and white.  We haven't shown these images anywhere else, and just got one of the rolls back from Richards Photo Lab last night. Enjoy!

All images taken on Kodak Portra 400, with a Canon AE-1 35mm and Bronica Etrsi  Medium format camera.
